Comet ISON is in Virgo & diving toward the Sun fast!!! It is too low now, behind the trees for my 16" in the dome! But is now visible in Telephoto lenses. I captured these images 11-13-2013 this ice covered morning at 20F, so freaking cold, I had to climb on the roof of the observatory with all my portable gear just to get above the trees & see ISON low on the horizon 15 minutes before dawn! This was taken with my Canon Rebel Xsi & 300mm telephoto lens, F5.6, ISO 800, for a single 4 minute exposure, took several more images, then noticed ice crystals form on my lens and dawn flooded the sky, but at least i got another shot before perihelion! ISON’s Tail is now 120 arc minutes long, and is getting better, it just brighten by 2 mags, it is so low on the horizon in Zodiacal Light, and dawn approaching fast…only about another week before its completely in the glare of the sun!
