Details:
This morning I observed and photographed Comet Ison for the first time. It was brighter than expected, although I couldn't compare it to previous days. Apparently it is currently undergoing an outburst and has become much brighter. It looked amazing in my 8 inch dobsonian telescope. It was similar to the picture, but without the color. The picture is made up of 15x2 minute exposures, plus darks and bias frames stacked with Deep Sky Stacker and processed in Photoshop. Shot with a 135mm lens on a Pentax K-5 and then cropped 65%.
