Details:
So, after taking this photo of Uranus, I now miss only the two outermost planets with this equipment. A few days ago I realized that with my camera and lens I could easily shoot 11th magnitude objects without tracking mount and with reasonably short tails, and that Uranus and Neptune (mag around 6-7) would be easy targets. This is Uranus, which this evening was great even in binoculars. For computing the exposure time I used the thumb rule of 600/focal length. The first image is cropped. For reference, the star closest to Uranus has magnitude 11.45. Other images are unprocessed but reduced in size to fit uploading requirements. Canon 600d and 70-300 lens at various lengths.
