Nacreous clouds maybe?
Taken by Shannon Welford on November 6, 2013 @ Having cirrocumulus clouds all day long I knew it would bring a great sunset to photograph. What I didn't expect to see were these beautiful prisms of greens and pinks just above. I use a nikon d3100 for all my photography.

If anyone can tell me if these are nacreous clouds and how this occurs, I would appreciate it. I have never seen anything like this sunset reflecting light like this on the above most cloud. The prisms of green and pinks were amazing!! I was taking pictures between 5 to 5:30 pm. The temperature was between 50 and 53 degrees, only getting a bit colder as the sun was setting. Just to the right out of view the crescent moon and venus made their appearances.
