Details:
Ive never seen such bright airgow bands, covering almost the entire sky, and easily visible to the naked eye. The first image with a view over Benachie was taken with a Canon 6d, 24mm Sigma lens, f2.8, ISO 6400, 15 second exposure. The second is a composite of 12 images taken at around 2320 UTC with a Samyang 14mm lens and stitched using Hugin. I also shot a short time lapse which can be viewed at http://www.flickr.com/photos/67966149@N04/10659817785/in/photostream/
