Details:
Spectacular rainbow effects with the sun at my house all day long on Nov 3. I guess it made up for the fact it was cloudy at sunrise and I couldn't see the eclipse at all. ;( Details: Nikon Coolpix digital camera on auto setting. High sun photo taken around 1p, lower sun around 4p.

These are both lens flares.

Maybe my eyes have flair too then because thats why I grabbed the camera. Ive taken hundreds of sun photos with that Nikon on auto and its never produced artifacts remotely like this. Ive done photography for over 40 years, I know what a lens flair is. But Im not selling anything, so people can believe whatever they wish. It doesnt affect me.

Ilike this photo a lot, and think it is intresting too. The rain-
bows reminds of the mulicolored ones you can see around the moon sometimes..and it make me think, the moon IS there too. Maybe the
bows is a result of sun/moon working together ? But it does not
says anything about the beautiful beam..?..which seems to be stronger downwords. At last the ultrablue color in the midst is
reely nice ! Greetings fr.Gillan/Sweden

Thank you seawolf. The beam lines up with a pond in my yard so the sun could possibly be interacting with the water to cause the white beam. Lake Erie is about 25 miles distant over the ridge. I am located in the last valley before the great lakes basin.

You tend to see funny rainbows with the nano particles of aluminum oxide or barium stron. ect ect. But it appears there is no geo engineering in the sky line meaning this is a natural event NICE.
Say no to Geo-engineering btw its bad for everything...
