Details:
Comet Encke now shows a long and thin ion tail at least 20 arcminutes long. The comet was very low (15 degrees) on the horizon, somewhat through trees and the sun was rising only 45 minutes later, hence the ugly background. I unfortunately did not have time to take color images.
North is up, East is left. 7 minutes L, 16 inches F4,4 Newtonian + STXL-6303E. FOV 54 x 36 arcminutes.
