Details:
An hour before totality Lake Turkana was hit with a sandstorm that drove everyone to take down their equipment and left the viewing covered in clouds. Our group quickly took off in a Cessna Caravan and topped out of the clouds at 9100 feet moments before totality. Beautiful view, but too bumpy for good pictures. On the way up the eclipsing sun radiated through the clouds putting "pin hole" crescents on the water which is shown.
