Details:
Last night November 2nd 2013 Alaska time a small hint of auroras appeared. It soon started to get brighter as time went on. Camera used was a Canon 1DX with a 24mm 1.4 lens. This shot is one of 784 images from a time-lapse segment. I was on a small island in the Beaufort sea. As you can see the ocean has now cover in ice 6 miles off the coast.
