Details:
As the Moon rose over Sydney tonight it was filtered through the the large cloud of smoke that was hanging high in the sky from the severe fires that rage out of control in the West. This gave the Moon a bright orange colouring that lessened as it rose higher in the sky. It was reminiscent of the orange colour experienced on 23 September 2009 when Sydney was covered in a cloud of fine dust that blew in from the West and was detected as far away as New Zealand. Details: Canon 40D DSLR mounted on Vixen 102mm refractor. Exposure was1/140sec at ISO 400
