Details:
I was at the right place on Earth to see this eclipse, such as it was, with the Moon due south and high in the sky at 1 a.m. local time in southern Spain at mid-eclipse. Even so, only a very subtle darkening of the Moon's disk is visible, and then only with the help of processing to enhance contrast. Some darkening of the disk could be seen visually through the camera's LCD screen under magnified "live view" in focusing. I was in Malaga, Spain, with the lunar eclipse occurring the night before we're scheduled to depart for a cruise across the Atlantic to see the total solar eclipse two weeks from now. The closeup is a cropped image with a 200mm telephoto. The wide-angle view is from earlier in the evening before the eclipse began as the Moon rose over the harbour and a century-old sailing ship, the Eye of the Wind.
