Comet ISON with NEA 433 Eros
Taken by Paul Cox on September 24, 2013 @
A huge surprise. I was creating the time-lapse of Comet ISON I put together from the Slooh Half Metre telescope each morning. On flicking between two of the frames, another object jumped out of the image traveling alongside ISON.
A check showed it to be Near-Earth Asteroid "433 Eros".
This was particularly pertinent as I participated in NASA's Asteroid Grand Challenge workshop last week in Houston where we'd been invited to make a presentation.
