Details:
I set up to record NEO 2026 RG 15 for which the Spaceweather website predicted a close approach on 15th Sept 2026, Distance = 0.2 LD, velocity = 9.1 kms/sec., diameter = 24 metres.
From Brisbane, on 14th Sept 2026, between 7:29pm and 7:46pm AEST (UT+10) I managed to record a series of 20x60 sec exposures tracking on NEO 2026 RG15.

The orbital elements for 2026 RG15 were obtained via The Sky X Pro and the telescope mount was set to Track 2026 RG15 at the calculated Custom Rate against a background of trailed stars.
I was surprised that the recorded position of 2026 RG15 displayed as a curved orbit against the trailed background stars.
Previously, the telescope mount when tracking NEO’s at a custom rate would record the NEO as a point source against the trailed background stars, much like 2026 RG2 which I recorded on the previous evening.
