Details:
I usually capture video in 8 bit format which gives only 256 shades of grey. When I capture the sun's surface and prominences at the same time all the prominences turn out black. So I switched to 16 bit video which has 256 times more grey shades. You can see the results here where the mini tornado has lots more detail in its structure. Also note the sunspot is pulsing with umbral flashes. Playback is 900x real time.
