Details:
There was a thick band of clouds along the horizon at sunset, so my son and I had to wait about 20 minutes for the moon to rise above the clouds and get our first view of the in-progress eclipse. Shortly thereafter, we had wonderful views of the dusky orange moon, sometimes shrouded by cloud wisps or buzzed by airplanes. My son had seen a total solar eclipse and at least one partial solar eclipse, but this was his first lunar event.
