Total Solar Eclipse View from Zaragoza’s Stone Bridge
My original plan was to view the Total Solar Eclipse outside Zaragoza by hiking to the gypsum cliffs of Galacho de Juslibol for an unobstructed vantage point. However, the plan had to be changed due to an intense heat wave, with temperatures reaching 105°F and above.
Instead, I watched totality from Zaragoza’s famous Puente de Piedra (Stone Bridge), which crosses the Ebro River and offers iconic views of the Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar. Despite the intense heat and the heavy regulation of desirable unobstructed viewing spots by local authorities, experiencing Totality from the historic bridge turned out to be an awesome and unforgettable experience.
