Details:
Using a white paper on an easel to catch the light from the sun reflecting off the mirror of a 10 inch Newtonian Telescope, we safely saw the moon eclipse 90% of the sun's disk. The light filtering through a nearby tree's leaves cast crescent light shadows on wood. The air cooled noticeably and the sky appeared darker as if one was wearing polarised sunglasses. Perfectly calm during the hour and 48 minutes of the solar eclipse here in Kent England.
