More Perseid Meteors August 7, 2026 Albany, Missouri The Perseid Meteor shower is less than a week away from peak activity. There was a bright one in the northwestern sky of the Missouri Skies Observatory early this morning. Actually, there were two. This double Perseid entered the atmosphere this morning at 12:23 am CDT. They almost entered at the same time. Notice the glowing train leftover from the brighter one. Unfortunately, the weather here in Northwest Missouri doesn't look good for next week's shower peak, so we'll have to enjoy the lead-up from here.
