Here is a view of supernova 2026ovz in the galaxy NGC 789. SN 2026ovz (originally reported as transient AT 2026ovz) is a recently discovered supernova located in the constellation Triangulum. Type: Type II (Core-Collapse Supernova) Host Galaxy: NGC 789 (a spiral galaxy of morphological type Sd) Host Galaxy Magnitude: 14.4 (apparent V magnitude) Distance: 241 million light-years Discovery Date: June 10, 2026 Discovering Instrument: The Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) Telescope: Meade 12” LX-90 SCT with Antares Focal Reducer Camera: ZWO ASI071MC (cooled to 0C) BIN2 Mount: Celestron CGX-L pier mounted Capture: 60 x 60 seconds Location: The Dark Side Observatory (W59), Weatherly, PA (Bortle 4) Processing: DeepSkyStacker + Tycho Tracker Image Date: July 14, 2026.
