Details:
Shown are the 3 days Regulus and Venus were closest together in the evening sky. Regulus, the brightest star in Leo the Lion, was at mag. 1.4, while brilliant Venus was at mag. -4.1. All photos were taken between 9:30-10:00pm MDT (during nautical twilight).
#1: July 8th: Cedar City (Utah) wrapped up their string of Independence Day celebrations with an orchestra performing in the city's central park. Regulus and Venus looked on from the only balcony seats for the event.
