Details:
I did some solar observing and imaging on June 29, 2026 between 15:00 UT and 16:00 UT. It got pretty hot after the session ended.
AR #14478 remains steady with little activity, while the new group AR #14479 is expanding and producing minor flares. Still, nothing significant so far.
Also, I have noticed AR #14478 is visible naked eye through the eclipse glasses.
At high resolution in white light, I noticed the granules between the two large spots in AR #14478 appear very faint or lighter, likely due to the stronger magnetic field disrupting the cells. Even in AR #14479 shows the granules are weak between the two big spots.
Still, we should keep an eye now on AR #14479!
