Details:
On a very hot evening in Austria with a bright moon in the sky we could capture the near-Earth asteroid 152637 speeding past the 8.6mag star HD 158230. Only 6.7 lunar distances away, the small body had an apparent motion of 42“/minute. Watching the live view from a Seestar S50 one could see the asteroid’s trail build up very fast. The final image was shot with 60x10sec exposures. No desktop processing, just some minor adjustments on an iPad.
