Details:
Substorms like to show up every 3 hours. This rule of thumb held up almost to the minute last night. Watching GOES magnetograms and the past history on CANMOS permitted a pretty accurate prediction of a decent substorm over the eastern Canada that was visible on cameras probably down to 40N. I am glad I did not get discouraged by clouds and caught a small portion of what must have been a really nice display around 11:10 EDST. There was another substorm over the US Midwest at 1:18 am that must have been visible north of 42N.
