This is not a comet.
This image of Mercury's sodium tail was taken using a 135mm lens attached to a ZWO ASI 178 monochrome camera and a 589nm filter. Though Mercury will be setting later as it approaches eastern elongation, the tail is gradually fading as the best viewing period, 14 to 16 days prior to or after perihelion, has now passed.
