Blue Mineral Micromoon Over Argentina The Full Moon of May 31, 2026, appears painted in shades of blue, brown, and copper in this enhanced-color portrait. These subtle hues reveal real differences in the Moon's geology: titanium-rich lava plains appear blue, while older highlands and low-titanium regions show warmer tones. This was also a Micromoon, occurring near lunar apogee, when the Moon was slightly farther from Earth and appeared smaller than usual. The image was captured from Rafaela, Santa Fe, Argentina, with an Askar APO 140 refractor and a ZWO ASI183MC camera. Thousands of frames were combined to produce a high-resolution view of our satellite's surprisingly colorful surface.
