A day or two before the full Moon is a great time to get the nearly-full Moon along with sunset colors on the foreground. These photos were taken on 29 May 2026 in Sedona, Arizona, with the photogenic Cathedral Rock in the distance.
The Photographers Ephemeris (TPE) was used to find the best location to watch the Moon rise in the gaps. As the Moon rises higher, photographers move down and left to keep the Moon in the gap—or above the pinnacles.
