Details:
Between 5.58 and 6.08 pm on Monday 18th May, the two-day old 4.8% illuminated Young Crescent Moon with Venus above was observed setting behind the summit of Transmitter Hill in fading volcanic sunset twilight. Bright Earthshine was visible in the shaded portion of the Moon which was captured setting in a time-lapse sequence of 36 four-second exposures. Although almost dark at the time the long exposures taken at high ISO (sensitivity) enabled the Moon with Earthshine to remain clearly visible until it had completely disappeared behind the mountain. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in manual exposure mode.
