Details:
. . . I was freezing out in an empty field just north of Carrollton, Missouri, and made this final exposure of Great Comet Hyakutake (C/1996 B2) with a 16 mm Fisheye-NIKKOR on an old Nikkormat Ftn body. The hand-guided exposure was ~ 15 minutes @ f/5.6 on Fuji Super G 400 color negative film. The air temperature that morning (not long before dawn) was a chilly 8 degrees Fahrenheit, and gave the film a bit of a boost in terms of how deep the exposure went. 60 degrees of ion tail are recorded, as well as green airglow around the horizon in the frames corners.
