Details:
I searched through all the photos I took of this eclipse to find the one that most exactly showed the naked eye or binocular (8x56) view during totality. (I did not view through a telescope to see how it compared.) This is it. It happened to be taken near mid-totality at a particular shutter speed, but that's beside the point. Photo exposures can vary considerably, but the eye gets only one impression, it occurs in an instant, and this image best represents what was seen in that moment.
