Details:
The Moon imaged on February 22 2026 using a Mak Cassegrain 18 cm. The image displays Piccolomini, Rupes Altai, Fracastorius. Furthermore the lunar region shows Theophilus which is a prominent lunar impact crater that lies between Sinus Asperitatis in the north and Mare Nectaris to the southeast. Theophilus, Cyrillus and Catharina form a prominent group of large craters visible on the terminator 5 days after the new moon.Theophilus is the youngest and most prominent of the three craters, while Catharina is the oldest and most eroded. This crater is a testament to the Moon's long history of bombardment.
