Details:
42N, upstate NY. This was shot during a G1 substorm that got triggered when Bz abruptly jumped up at around 9 pm EST (2 am UTC). At that time, HP was around 90. The sky at my location was of a very poor quality as you can see. There were atmospheric gravity waves of fog / haze that reflected light pollution like mirrors and blocked the faint aurora. Nothing visible to the naked eye. Only the brightest columns got through the atmospheric mess. Nikon Z7, 24-70 mm f2.8 at 2.8 and 24 mm, 6 sec, ISO 4000.
