Details:
As promised, Canon R5 images of the Tuesday night continuation of the Monday, 260119 storm. 14 mm 2.8 prime lens used throughout.
On the first night of the storm, there were perhaps a dozen other cars crammed into the only north facing overlook available in 63 miles of Shenandoah National Park as much of the 105 mile Skyline Drive was closed due to icing. Elev 1,400 ft.
Tuesday night there was no one there, save for a few locals gunning their hotrods, totally oblivious to the events in the sky😉. It was also about 11 degrees. As twilight faded, a distinct green tinge appeared above the horizon. By 6:30pm eastern (Tuesday), sky was taking on some patterns revealed as pinkish in color with green along the horizon thru the iPhone screen. Substorm continued til just after 7pm. Definitely naked eye visibility but appeared as shades of gray except for a faint redness. The promise of more was superseded by the pain of frozen fingers so, called it a night, happy with the evenings catch.
