🌕 Super Moon | 4 Jan 2026 – Quetta Observed and imaged the Super Moon during its close approach to Earth, revealing beautiful surface details. ✨ Why bright & dark regions? • Bright areas (Highlands): Older, rough terrain with highly reflective rocks; fresh craters like Tycho spread bright rays. • Dark areas (Maria): Smooth plains made of ancient basaltic lava, absorbing more light and appearing darker. 🔭 These contrasts record the Moon’s history of impacts and volcanism.
