Details:
5-Year Sunspot View Sunspot Cycle 25 began in December 2019 and peaked in August 2024. Over the past 5 years, the sun's activity has gradually increased significantly. From the beginning of Cycle 25 to the end of December 2025, 1,579 sunspot groups, numbered 12,753 to 14,331, appeared on the sun. The sun continued to be active in 2025, with 389 sunspot groups appearing. That's 1,065 sunspot groups per day! The sunspot density is approaching the equator. It looks like we'll see another small peak. But from 2026, the sunspot count is expected to gradually decrease. The sunspot image from SDO and the Cycle 25 chart were last updated at NOAA. The images were taken and edited at the Mahani Observatory.
