Details:
The image shows the evolution of sunspots in consecutive years during solar maximum. The 2024 one is a composite of 259 photos taken in the same number of days and the 2025 image are 293 individual captures the same way during the more forgiving weather of past year. Although there is a 13% increase in captures for 2025, the number of spots doesn't appear to rise correspondingly. What is definitely apparent is the change in their layout: there is a clear shrinking of the sunspots zone from one year to the other and a more homogeneous distribution. This is a grapical depiction of the solar cycle known evolution. Newton 4.5" + solar film, Canon T7i
