Details:
This is the third ELVES I have photographed, this time associated with a sprite. They were triggered by the same lightning strike: first the ELVES, immediately followed by the sprite. The lightning occurred over the Adriatic Sea in front of Fermo, in the Marche region of Italy. The positive lightning strike had a peak current of 387 kA. I was in Possagno, Treviso, Italy, at my home, 350 km away. Thanks to the stars present, I measured the altitude at about 85 km and the diameter at about 230 km. I took the photo on November 26, 2025, at 22:13:34 UTC. I used a Sony A7S with a Nikon 50mm f/1.4 lens at ISO 51,200 and an Atomos Ninja recorder at 25 frames per second.
