Details:
The aurora never failed to disappoint, one then two CMEs hit after midnight here in N. Ireland with the Bz diving below -40. I had sudden clear skies and drove out for a look and saw it in an instant so pulled over at the side of the road to get images. The sky was on fire with crimson/red auroral curtains and rays reaching overhead, I even seen pink and pearl white colours however it was the reds which stole the show, even casting red shadows on the road, the moon may as well have not been there. The display was marvelous. Here are two images with the full frame DSLR and 15mm wide angle lens, the rays extended far beyond the camera field, I called it a night at 4am and the show was still ongoing overhead.
