Details:
The atmosphere was filled with high cirrostratus clouds, and the sunlight hit millions of tiny hexagonal ice crystals suspended above Nuuk, bending the light exactly 22 degrees to form this halo. The bright side spots are sun dogs (parhelia), and the faint arcs above the Sun are part of an upper tangent arc, creating a full display of atmospheric optics.
