Details:
The auroras really took off over Anchorage, Alaska a little after midnight (0900 UTC) on November 6, 2025 from the western end of aptly named Northern Lights Boulevard. Between auroras dancing over moonlit Mt. Susitna (the Sleeping Lady), and planes photobombing Beaver Supermoon lunar halos, I was glad I stayed in town! Add the occasional overhead roar of a plane taking off from ANC (Anchorage International Airport) and it was a full sensory kind of experience.
