Details:
Comets C/2025 A2 (Lemmon) and C/2025 R2 (SWAN) have put on quite a show recently but are now past their primes and soon fading from view. This has been quite a challenge for me chasing these fast-moving comets with a moderately-fast system (f/3.8) and a 20-year old monochrome SBIG 11K CCD camera! Catching Comet SWAN dancing between the Eagle and Swan Nebulae was fun (LRGBHa). And Comet Lemmon did not disappoint casting its long blue ion tail across Ophiuchus globular cluster M12 last evening! Perhaps this antique imager will tackle future cometary brethren with a faster system and a color CMOS camera like those in-the-know! Old dog needs new tricks!
