Hello On October 18th around 7:00 PM UT, I photographed Comet Lemmon from southwest France. It was the third evening I'd photographed this comet. Imagine my surprise during processing to see that the tail, which extends over more than 15°, was completely distorted compared to the previous day. In particular, part of the tail appears detached, far from the nucleus, and in my photo, it passes close to M51. I think the solar wind and the G2 geomagnetic storm that occurred last night had something to do with this. The photo was taken with a Canon 6D and a Sigma 135mm f/1.8 lens.
