Details:
On September 19, 2025, a rare daytime lunar occultation of Venus took place. The thin waning crescent Moon, only about 5% illuminated, passed in front of Venus in broad daylight, very close to the Sun in the sky. Due to the small apparent size of Venus compared to the Moon, the planet was hidden for several minutes. This image was captured at 14:19 local time (12:19 UTC), just moments before Venus disappeared behind the lunar limb. The challenging observing conditions — daylight, proximity to the Sun, and the extremely thin crescent — made this a particularly demanding but rewarding capture.
