About ten minutes after sunset tonight, I spotted a bright light hovering just above the Pacific horizon. It remained visible for roughly fifteen minutes, during which I noticed a distinct plume rising above it.It appeared mostly still, though at times it seemed to dip downward and rise again. Occasionally, it vanished from sight, only to reemerge moments later. Then it disappeared for good.
