Details:
Yesterday just after sunset, I saw that the solar wind was fast but most importantly: Bz was going to take a sharp turn from positive values to below -10 nT. Being on a small expedition ship anchored in the Kangerlussuaq fjord in West Greenland, it was hard to hide my enthusiasm! However, auroras took their sweet time to make an appearance, testing both our guests and eventually my own patience! But finally, as I expected from my countless nights living under the oval, the sky went ablaze, and we had to wake up the entire ship to invite all guests to the outer decks. And so I went on to capture various angles under these gorgeous and bright auroras.
