Details:
In the evening on Sunday September 7th, the Full Corn Moon was observed to rise to the east of Mutare and then undergo a Total Lunar Eclipse between 5.56 and 10 pm. Unfortunately, thick smoke-haze from the burning of vegetation both local and in neighboring Mozambique colored the Moon red even before the start of the eclipse and then reduced visibility so much that it was almost impossible to see and obtain photographs of the Moon for almost the whole hour of complete totality. However, an acceptable record was obtained for much of the Lunar Eclipse. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in manual exposure mode.
