Details:
I captured this image sequence of interstellar Comet 3I/ATLAS on July 05, 2025 from 04:59 to 5:55 UT. Sky conditions were marginal, with fairly poor seeing and intermittent haze, so only the best 11 images obtained during the interval were used to create this animated GIF. The 90-second-long individual images were taken with a Celestron 11-inch Edge HD @ F10 and an ASI2600MM-Pro CMOS imager with a Luminance filter. Also captured in this sequence is an unrelated dimmer unidentified object (labeled "?" - likely an asteroid) moving in a similar but shorter path above and to the left of the comet. Comet 3I/ATLAS magnitude at this time has been estimated at approximately +17.5.
