3888 Hoyt is a main-belt asteroid discovered on March 28, 1984, by American astronomer Carolyn S. Shoemaker at the Palomar Observatory. It is named after the author & journalist William Graves Hoyt.

The asteroid has a diameter of approximately 5 kilometers and belongs to the Phocaea asteroid group.
