"Solar Halo on a Hot Afternoon"
June 14, 2025
Albany, Missouri
This solar halo was quite remarkable. Not only is the 22-degree halo prominent, but there is a smaller halo much closer to the Sun. Is the smaller halo real or just an artifact of the lens? I think it's real because it remained fixed when I aimed the lens at different angles. Maybe it's a rarer 9-degree halo?
The panoramic image appears warped due to my choices in stitching together multiple frames. It came out wonky, but I like it.
