Details:
I woke at 2:45AM and noticed the Kp Index was 6 and my friend's All Sky camera was showing a red glow to the north. I decided to climb my backyard hill and I captured this aurora event between 3 to 4 AM until dawn occurred. Despite increasing to a Kp8, the solar stream was not very dense and thus I'd consider this event more as a DEEP SKY aurora (photogenic but not easily visible in dark skies). Tall purple rays are illuminated by the direct sunlight some 300 miles in altitude. Taken at 3:54AM (MDT) with Fujifilm X-T5, 16-55mm f/2.8 @ f/2.8 & 16mm. Exp 15s, iso 1250.
