At 5.58 pm on Thursday 29th May the two and a half day old, 9% illuminated, Waxing Crescent Moon was photographed above a fading late volcanic sunset twilight arch in the vicinity of Pollux and Castor (upper and mid right) with Jupiter shining bright (below left) and the red giant star Betelgeuse in the distance (far left). A gorgeous celestial display. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in manual exposure mode
